Scaling up processes can be fraught with problems. Effective scale-up comes from a fundamental understanding of the underlying science and engineering. Williams Process has considerable experience in scaling up processes. We apply a methodology that ensures we understand the process, and identify at an early stage any missing or incomplete data. Then we carry out the scale-up, taking into account equipment constraints, basic heat and mass transfer, cost, regulatory requirements, logistics — the list goes on. All to ensure “no surprises”. |
